Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and relaxation in which a person can access their subconscious mind. Hypnosis works by bypassing the critical conscious mind and giving direct access to the subconscious — where deeply held beliefs, emotions, and behaviors live. Once those structures are accessible, limiting beliefs can be revised, repressed material can be processed, and unwanted behaviors can be reworked.
